We worked with St Neots Town Council, in collaboration with Huntingdonshire District Council on improvement works to Moores Walk Gardens in St Neots

This joint initiative comes as a direct response to the concerns and feedback raised by residents regarding the condition of the Moores Walk Garden/Community space. Both councils were committed to enhancing this valuable community asset, making it a welcoming and accessible part of our High Street communal space.

The planned improvements included:

  • Re-pointing of brickwork: Strengthening the garden’s structural elements to improve and ensure longevity.
  • Repair, cleaning, and painting of ironwork: Refreshing the garden’s aesthetic and preventing deterioration.
  • Restoration of benches: Improving existing well used seating through refurbishment
  • Creation of dropped accessible access from the High Street: Enhancing accessibility for all, including those with mobility challenges.
  • Pruning of trees and a new planting scheme: Revitalising the garden’s greenery to create a more inviting environment that is easy to manage.

We developed a planting plan that had a mix of evergreen and herbaceous perennials, shrubs and grasses to provide year round structure and interest. Herbaceous perennials were chosen to be useful for pollinators and to provide a soft colour palette. A selection of plants were also chosen to provide scent and/or aromatic leaves.
